Life's path unfolds uniquely for each of us. Some find comfort in the known, while others are propelled by an insatiable hunger for something more — a need for change, growth, and belonging all while still having a sense of stability.
Do you need change? Do you desire more stability and balance in your life? Do you crave evolving and becoming the best version of yourself? Do you want more control over your daily life?
This post is for those hungry for change, and growth while also creating stability in their life. It’s for the individuals who see life as a canvas waiting to be painted with experiences, lessons, and personal growth. If you're nodding along, feeling that deep desire for change, to learn, evolve, build a strong personal foundation and make a positive impact, you're in the right place.
You understand that to get to where you truly want to be, you need to change and change is uncomfortable. Your acknowledgment that embracing discomfort as the gateway to personal growth sets you apart. It's about learning to find comfort in the unknown, exploring every area of your curiosity, and understanding that the journey never truly concludes — it merely unfolds new opportunities. Embracing discomfort looks like; trying something new, not wanting to do something but doing it anyway because you believe it may lead to a new or better result. You understand that everyone makes mistakes and that is part of the journey to success. You know that doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results is the definition of insanity, so stepping out of your comfort zone to do something new is also exhilarating and another way of improving and growing.
You’ve also most likely experienced at one point or another feeling afraid to do something, overcoming the fear and realizing that, the other side of fear is a much better place to be. Once we step over our fear, it shrinks. Can you think of a time when this is true from your experience? You know that fear is conquerable and overcoming it creates a massive transformation.
Here is a video by Will Smith on Fear and Sky Diving that I would highly recommend watching:
Motivated by a myriad of reasons—past traumas, an innate desire to contribute to the world, to prove yourself, or the high of continuous learning—you understand that accomplishments mark not the end but the inception of a new chapter. It's a perpetual cycle of setting new goals, finding bigger ways to contribute, and relishing the journey while uncovering new opportunities. Driven by the past, a desired future, the need for change, or all three, you know that there is more waiting for you, and you want to discover what those things are and bring them into your current reality.
Yet, amidst this unwavering drive, you've likely encountered roadblocks — something that’s stopping you from getting to the next level - be it incorrect beliefs, unconstructive habits, or the persistent presence of negative self-talk and self-doubt. You're not alone in this struggle. But here's where you differ: your resolute determination to never cease learning and improving is ingrained in your very being.
While desiring growth as a lifelong journey is incredible, it can also lead to feelings of burnout and stress. It can lead to losing sight of enjoying the journey you are on and celebrating the small things in your life. For continuous learners and people with a drive for change, following a meditation and gratitude practice is a necessity. It helps balance the feelings of becoming stale, bored, not improving, feeling stuck, lacking direction, overwhelmed, under-energized, lack of motivation, and lack of fulfillment. When we meditate, we give ourselves time to go inwards, shut out our environment, and process what is going on in our lives, gain clarity and focus. The drive that keeps you getting better every day and accomplishing things most people can’t is also the thing that can keep you so busy you forget to check in with yourself. Gratitude reminds you of everything you’ve already accomplished and what you have every day to be thankful for while you continue to push your boundaries, learn and grow. Meditation and gratitude help create balance and stability in your life.
Although all people can benefit from practicing both of these, it is especially important for people who are hungry for change. If you desire change, your thoughts can easily take you down the road of not being happy where you are.
When I started to think about what I wanted and allowed myself to think about those things, the feeling that followed was lack. If I want them, it means I don’t have those things and I don’t know how to get them. Ironically, if you never think about what you truly want, the chances of you bringing those things into your life are extremely limited. Change how you view your desires. What does it look like to take one small step towards them? How does that feel? This is where creating a mindset about finding joy on your journey and clarity on what’s most important to you for where you currently are can be game-changing for enjoying your everyday life and increasing your baseline happiness levels.
